Robert Camillo Stacconi “Stac”

Robert Camillo Stacconi “Stac”, 81 of Endwell, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 8, 2018.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jimmy and Rose Stacconi; his brother, John Stacconi; his longtime companion, Jeanne Gula. He is survived by four children, Robert T. Stacconi (Kathy) of Remsen, NY, Richard J. Stacconi (Bonnie) of Chesapeake, VA, Bonni Phelps (Randy) of Endicott, NY, Lisa M. Deshaies (Brian) of New Braunfels, TX; seven grandchildren, Ian Stacconi (Sandra), Heather Decker (Jason), Robert Stacconi, Nicolina Pearsall (Bret), Monique Chavez (George), Nickolaus Deshaies (Jen), Keith Deshaies; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Phil Stacconi (Shirley) of Endwell; his sisters, Rose Mary Caforio-Rinker (Earle)  of Endwell, Gloria White (Crockett) of Lubbock, TX; his sister-in-law, Florence Stacconi of Endwell; the mother of his children, Carol Kellum of Endicott; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserves, with 42 years of service; a member of the Vestal Fire Department, Company 1, with 60 years of service; a founding member of the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad; a charter member of the Greater Binghamton Chapter of UNICO; a retired employee of IBM Owego and a retired school bus driver for the Vestal School System. Bob was known to everyone as, “Mr. Fix It”. If you needed it repaired, you brought it to him. He was always tinkering with something, even while in the nursing home. Driving school bus was his favorite job. He loved the kids on his route and missed them terribly when he could no longer drive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church 306 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends at St. Anthony’s Church on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad 324 Myrtle St. Vestal, NY 13850.
