Ruth (Schniepp) Majka, 90 of Endicott, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Cooperstown Center.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Majka; her son, James Majka; her daughter-in-law, Donna Majka; her grandsons, Jeremy and Zachary Majka. She is survived by four children, Joe Majka, Tom Majka (Penny), Dan Majka (Nicole), Kathy Majka; five grandchildren, Alicia, Joshua, Jonathan, Jennifer and Noah Majka; her sister, Mary Lou Conklin (Bob); also several nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Johnson City High School and Wilson Memorial Hospital, School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at Ideal, Wilson and Lourdes Hospital. She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Endicott. Ruth was an avid outdoors woman who enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and painting. She was a Lourdes Hospice and American Red Cross Volunteer. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff’s of The United Methodist Homes, Hilltop Campus and Cooperstown Center for the compassionate care that Ruth received.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday 9:30 AM from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott and at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, where a Funeral Mass will be held. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Saturday, from 9:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
