Mary Theresa (Mastrangelo) Conti, 90, passed away on January 23, 2021, at Absolut Care of Endicott from complications due to COVID-19 Pneumonia. She was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mary loved her Lord, family, and friends. She unconditionally accepted, welcomed, and loved all she met and knew. Mary was kind, caring, and humble, always concerned for others, and put herself last. She loved the time spent with her family at gatherings, cooking, and of course, baking. Mom just made everything better! Mary worked at Burt’s Department Store as a young lady, married her husband Louis, and raised their family on the northside of Endicott. She was very active in her faith and, over the years, was a Religious Education Teacher in grade school, a volunteer at the parish feast days, fish fry, and other events. She was the parish secretary at St. Anthony’s for 37 years, where she served her Lord and others, bringing sunshine into the office. She had many special dear friends at the parish office and church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mariano and Annafelice (Donatelli) Mastrangelo; her husband of 66 years, Louis; an unborn child; her brothers, Joseph (Mary) Mastrangelo, Alfredo Mastrangelo (Died in Italy); her niece, Pat Mastrangelo; her dearest friends, Theresa (Liberatore) DiPietro and Josephine (Liberatore) Gaworecki. Mary is survived by her son, Robert L. Conti; her daughters, Doreen (Nick) DeBenedittis, Annemarie (Gary) Armstrong; her grandchildren, Alisha (Pete) Ortu, Derek Hoppes, Matthew (Alicia) McGowan, Jason McGowan; her great-grandchildren, Ava, Sophia and Joey Ortu, Kate, Samantha and Joseph Louis McGowan, Cynthia McGowan; her nephews, Al (Bobbi) Mastrangelo, Joe (Mary Lou) Mastrangelo, Marvin Mastrangelo, Dr. Angelo (Cathy) Mastrangelo, Anthony (Robin) Mastrangelo, Beverly, Patti and James Conti; her Godchildren, JoAnne (Olivieri) DiOrio and Paul Bill; her lifelong best friend, Fran Zimmer and special friend, Betty Bill.
