Iris Faye Burnard (Menhennett)

On February 19th, our mother Iris went to heaven to join our father Jack, her loving husband of 64 years.

Always in charge, she was a true matriarch.  She protected us fiercely, loved us unconditionally and stood up for even when we did not deserve it.

No question was ever too small, no problem too big to bring to her.  So intelligent and well read, we knew she would have the answer.  We could count on her for anything and she made sure we knew how loved we were and that we could always come home.

There was always something wonderful cooking in our mother’s kitchen and always room at the table for anyone we brought with us. No person, no pet or stray would ever go hungry in Iris’ presence.

She loved babies and welcomed each new one like they were the best thing that ever happened to our family.

She had a sharp wit and a wicked sense of humor.  She made us laugh like no one else.  And some how she made taking care of everyone all the time look easy.

We take comfort knowing she has reunited with our father and family members that passed before her. We are forever grateful for the time we had with her, the things she taught us and laughter that lives on.

Our deepest thanks to Joan, whose dedication and loving care gave us the last few years with her.  She did Mom and Dad proud.
