Joseph Hromek Jr. ,76, of Endwell, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on April 20, 2021 and was joyfully reunited with his son, Michael Hromek and parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Hromek. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia; daughter Karen (Barrett) Ouimette; cherished granddaughter Rachel; brother William (Carolyn) Hromek; brother-in-law Joseph (Barbara) Behil; nieces and nephews. Joseph worked at IBM for 35 years as a Staff Engineer where he was an integral part of many groundbreaking projects. He was an avid Syracuse basketball fan and enjoyed playing in basketball, golf and bowling leagues. His hobbies included building and remodeling, gardening and a love of cooking. His self-taught culinary skills and restaurant worthy creations amazed his friends and family. Joseph loved the beach and enjoyed planning family trips and traveling. He loved listening to his extensive collection of recording artists and passed his love and passion for music onto his children.

The family wishes to thank the following physicians for the wonderful care they provided over the years: Lazarus Gehring, MD; Timothy Howland, MD; and Parker M. Gennett, DPM. A special thank you to the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad and the doctors, nurses and aides at UHS Wilson Hospital during his last days. Upon Joseph’s request, a private family burial and service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the charity of your choice. Forever in our hearts, you will be loved and missed. We know you will be watching over us in heaven as you did on earth.
