Thomas J. Kopl

Thomas J. Kopl, 81, of Endicott died peacefully November 24, 2022, surrounded byhis loving family at his home. He was predeceased by his parents Mary (Striz) and Anthony Kopl. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol, children Karen Behal (Dave), Todd Kopl (Anna), and Kathy Rader (Brent) and his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Brandon Behal, Matthew and Samuel Kopl, Owen and Nina Rader. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Kopl.
Tom graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1959 and Broome Technical Community College. He worked for 30 years at IBM as a mechanical engineer and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Once retiring from IBM, he enjoyed
working at Rainbow Displays Inc. with many of his previous work buddies. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, where he attended regularly.
Tom was a kind and gentle man who greeted everyone he met with a smile. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather and leaves behind many cherished memories. He was happiest when spending time with his family, supporting his
grandchildren at their many events, or mowing the grass on his John Deere tractor. He was a member of the Aeroguidance Society for many years, flying radio control planes with his son Todd and grandson Matthew. After retirement, Tom and Carol
made many happy memories together traveling to Italy, Ireland, Alaska, NoviaScotia, and the western United States where he loved riding the steam trains.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Good Council Church, Endicott, Thursday December 1, 2022, at 11 AM. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 AM. prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately
following. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
