Thomas Poklemba, Sr. 90 of Endwell, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023 at Mercy House.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; his brothers, Elmer, George and Fred Poklemba; his fur children, Bingo, Sparky, Peppy and Rusty. He is survived by three children, Charlene (Steve) Dedrick, Thomas Poklemba, Jr., Elizabeth (Mark) Beautz; four grandchildren, Melissa Poklemba, Ryan Poklemba, Rebecca Casella, Alex Beautz; his sister, Dorothy Sorochinsky; his sister-in-law, Mary Poklemba; also several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of The Church of the Holy Family, Endwell, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Endicott, a veteran of the US Naval Reserves, serving from 1952-1960, a retired employee of IBM and Lockheed Martin, Owego. Tom traveled to and lived in Europe for work and was an avid Duke Basketball fan. He enjoyed the fine taste of salami, italian sausage and kielbasa, some might even refer to him as the best sausage maker in Endicott.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 26th at 10:30 AM at The Church of the Holy Family 3600 Phyllis St. Endwell, NY. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of Mass at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Mercy House 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.
