As a teenager, Geno worked for the Adirondack Railroad at Big Moose Station before enlisting at the age of 18. Geno proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1947. After an Honorable Discharge he returned to Endicott where he found employment at Endicott Machine and Tool (EMT). He worked at EMT for 41 years, eventually serving as Vice President and Plant Manager until his retirement in 1992. Geno went on to enjoy a second career working with his son Rick at Fish Haven Farm for 37 years. Geno met his beloved wife, Anita, “the prettiest girl in Endicott” and they married in October 1951. Geno enjoyed Anita’s bus trips to Atlantic City, old movies, spending time with his Northside Endicott friends, and countless late nights of “Card Club” with family and friends. Geno spent many hours outdoors fishing, hunting, golfing, and always enjoyed smoking a cigar on the dock during many fun summer gatherings at Finger Lakes vacations. Geno identified family as the most important thing in his life and instilled this same value in his children and grandchildren. Geno’s family will always treasure precious memories of his amazing stories and infectious laughter at family dinners.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13 from 10 – 11am at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Endicott, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
