Dolores “Dee” (Luciano) Jester, 88, of Endicott, N.Y. passed away peacefully on January 26, 2024 at Binghamton General Hospital. She was born March 30, 1935 in Endicott, N.Y. She is predeceased by her parents Perry and Josephine Luciano, husband Donald, sister Barbara Walton, and brother Ron Luciano. Dee is survived by four children, Jonathan, his spouse Sophia, Jane (Broglio), Brian, Kevin, granddaughter Lily Broglio, nephew Kevin Walton, many cousins and extended family.
Dee graduated from Union-Endicott High School, Keuka College, Cornell School of Nursing, and the State University of New York at Oneonta. She was always passionate about social issues and served others by working as an elementary school teacher, director at Head Start, Teen Parent Educator, Parent Educator, director at CHOW Food Pantry, and volunteering as an election poll worker. She was very active in the Class of 1952 Union Endicott High School Reunion Committee. Most importantly she was passionate about being a mother and a nonna. Her granddaughter, Lily, was her pride and joy and she enjoyed spending time with her most of all.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Wilson and Binghamton General Hospitals, and most importantly those at Ideal Senior Living Center for the wonderful care they gave to Dee. Thank you also to her cousin, Nick DiNunzio and family for being a constant support to Dee and her children.
In honor of Dee’s wishes, there will be no immediate services and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org, an organization that Dee was passionate about.
