Domenic Quercia, 89 of Endwell, NY, passed away on Wednesday December 11th at Mercy House after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was predeceased by his parents Nunzio and Filomena Quercia; his brother Joseph Quercia. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, LaKay Quercia; two children, Philomena (Phyllis) Moberley (Stephen Price), Domenic (Nick) Quercia; two grandchildren, Tonya LaKay Skinner (Josh), Josh Quercia (Sana); one great-granddaughter, Arya Skinner; his sister, Anna R. Celeste (Michael); his sister-in-law, Liz Quercia. Today we have to say goodbye to a man who meant the world to us. Domenic lived a life full of love, wisdom and hard work. He loved fishing, cutting and chopping wood and especially line dancing. He also enjoyed hunting, but his big heart eventually led him to care too much for animals to continue. Grandpa taught us the most important lessons in life, to keep promises, treat women with kindness and respect, and to always be honest. He showed us how to aim higher, work harder, and never settle for less than we are capable of. He served his country proudly in the US Army before building a career he cherished at IBM. Grandpa made lifelong friends, and his intelligence and dedication left a mark on everyone he met. His greatest joy was his family, and he was always there to guide us and cheer us on. Though he is no longer with us, the love and lessons he gave will stay with us forever. Domenic, you made our lives brighter and better just by being you. We love you, and you’ll always be in our hearts.
