Janet S. Roe

Janet S. Roe, 91 passed from being an amazing angel on earth for countless people, to heaven on
Feb 10, 2024. Janet was born in Hilton NY in 1932 where she sang in the chorus and played many sports, including basketball. From 1949 to graduation in 1952, she attended Highland Hospital Nursing School in Rochester and met the love of her life (Keith) through a classmate, Keith's sister Audrey.
Janet started her nursing career in Rochester, then moved to Canisteo NY, Hornell NY, Bath NY and ultimately
to Endicott in 1966. She raised her family in a team effort with Keith, while working for 29 years as a nurse and
supervisor RN at Wilson Hospital.
After retirement, Janet was a home care nurse, a volunteer at a local church clothing center and most
importantly, a caring mom, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma to her three sons and their families.
Janet loved to sew, from her own wedding gown to prom outfits for her sons and horse show outfits for her
granddaughter. She enjoyed the Adirondack Mountains, playing cards, gathering with family for holidays and special occasions and most of all, truly enjoyed helping people.
Janet is survived by sons Mark (Stephanie), Kyle and Todd (MaryEllen), sister-in-law Carol Dickie,
granddaughter Kristen (Travis), grandsons Stephen(Amanda), Tyler, Ryan and Sean as well as several great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Keith, her sister Elenor, and brother Kenneth.
Janet willingly shared her years of wisdom and insight to many throughout her life. She taught us all how to
work hard, play fairly, win, lose, be gracious, thankful, thoughtful, patient and helpful wherever we can.
She always set a high bar, but saw to it everyone she met had what they needed to move forward in life.
Though mom will always be with us, her wit and thoughtfulness will be missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday February 23rd at 12 Noon at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY 13760. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Friday from 10:30 AM until time of service at 12 NOON.
Janet asked, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Guthrie-Lourdes Hospice at
4102 Vestal Rd Vestal, NY 13850. Every nurse and aide we met were incredible. Each one helped Janet's journeywith amazing care and compassion.
