Mario G. Battaglini, our beloved “BATT”, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, went to be with the Lord, passing away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at age 89. He was predeceased by his son David on November 14, 2020, parents Lena and Joseph Battaglini, his brother John, and his favorite uncle Michael Battaglini. 

He is survived by the love of his life, wife Louise Battaglini, with whom he celebrated 64 wonderful years together in May. Mario is also survived by his daughter Patricia (Ralph) Garrison, his son Joseph (Denise) Battaglini, and sisters Delores Brown, Norma Bidwell, and brother Edward Battaglini. 

Born on October 20th, 1931, Mario was known as “BATT” by all his friends. After dedicating 38 years, Mario retired from IBM in 1989, where he held a managerial position. His favorite pastimes included watching his children and grandchildren participate in their various after school activities, as well as golfing with his friends in a group called the North Side Golf Club. He especially enjoyed the 32 years he spent volunteering and working at the BC Open. 

Mario was also loved by his nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Adam) Goett, Michael (Kai) Garrison, Elizabeth Garrison, Andrew Battaglini (Lacey), Jeffrey (Christine) Battaglini, James Battaglini (Joanna), Jenna Battaglini, Emerson Murphy, and Emily Battaglini, as well as many nieces and nephews who greatly respected and admired him. Mario is also survived by his four great-grandchildren, Lucy Louise and Patrick James Goett, Camilla James Battaglini, and Henry David Garrison. 

He will always be remembered as a warm and kind-hearted soul. The family would like to thank the staff on Brookside Terrace at Vestal Nursing Home for the kindness and care they showed to Mario.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 12:00 pm at St. Anthony Padua Church 300 Odell Ave Endicott NY. The family will receive friends at St. Anthony of Padua Church Friday from 10;00 am until 11:45 am. Private family Entombment will be held Saturday in Calvary Cemetery.
