Bernard D. Colonna

Bernard D. Colonna, 77 of Endicott, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, after a prolonged illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Mary Colonna; his aunts, Mary (Angelo) Marini and Pauline Palo. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Diane (Gray) Colonna; his brother, Anthony (Roberta) Colonna; his nieces and nephews, Richard (Jill) Colonna, Bernadette (Jamie) Giacovelli, Colleen Eggleston, Angelo (Rebecca) Colonna; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leslie (Rosalie) Gray, Gloria (Mike) Bayne, Melanie (Mark) Wawro, Belle Gray; also several great-nieces and great-nephews; his dear friend, Anthony Sportelli.

He was retired from IBM Endicott where he was a loyal and dedicated Customer Service Engineer. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing cars, and golf. Bernie will be remembered most for his quiet presence, calm demeanor, voice of reason, and will to live. He has been and will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew and loved him for his unshakeable strength. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Wilson Hospital’s Emergency Department for their compassion and to Lourdes at Home, especially Gabriella and Emme for their loving care over the last year. 


A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to either The American Cancer Society 13 Beech St. Johnson City, NY 13790 or The America Kidney Fund at kidneyfund.org
