Corey Tyner

Corey Tyner, 42 of Endicott, NY, a Union Millwright, Local #1163, a devoted father, son, and brother passed away in the arms of his family after a long and difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. Corey is predeceased by his Grandparents, James Callahan, Paul and Mildred Tyner; his Uncle, Rod Rockwell; his Aunts, Kay Callahan-Rockwell, Sandy Tyner-Zimmer and very special Great Aunt Shirley.

Corey, aka Daddy-O, is survived by his beloved children Leah and Nicholas Tyner whom he loved more than life itself, mother Theresa who never left his side during this long and difficult journey, his loving father Randal Tyner,  devoted brother Justin Tyner and sister in law Tabetha Tyner, nephew Ashton Tyner, niece Makayla Tyner, Grandmothers Mary Callahan, Arlene Tyner, special cousin, Chad Milazzo who was always there whenever he needed him, the Mother of his children, Corrine Young; also many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Corey devoted his love continuously to everyone around him and always voiced his love for them with three words ”I LOVE YOU”.  Corey loved his brother so much and called Tabetha his Angel sent from heaven to help him.  Corey would always make sure he did whatever he could to help his Grandmother Mary Callahan and bring her a yearly Christmas tree. He fought like a true hero and throughout his painful journey was always selfless to show his love for others.

As a master welder, we can only imagine how he would be using his skills in Heaven to figure out how to weld the clouds together or offering to repair the gate. Corey loved his job as Union Millwright working with Turbines and in Power Plants. Although he missed his children terribly while he had to travel, hard work was his passion. When not working or spending time with his children, his other love was his 1968 Chevelle race car and motorcycle riding/racing and just helping his friends.

Even though Corey's body grew weak, his spirit and sense of humor never faltered. Corey spent his days surrounded by the ones that loved him. His need for speed never died and with his brother Justin, they would cruise through the neighborhood. Justin on his one wheel would push Corey in a wheelchair, like young kids, only on his return Corey would sing, "I had the time of my life", in the Dirty Dancing , Bill Medley Song.

Anyone who knew Corey, knew what a bright, beautiful personality he had. Always bringing smiles and laughter to anyone he knew. He would always find the GOOD in any situation no matter how rough it might be he never had a bad word or a complaint.

One of his coworkers told this story……………..It was my first time working as an apprentice and Corey was my Supervisor. I had no money and was wearing boots that were very worn and probably not safe. Corey took me to his truck, got out a brand new pair of steel toe boots from a box and gave them to me. He told me he too had a rough time financially when he started working and wanted me to keep the boots. I cried. No one had ever done anything like that for me and for my Supervisor, Corey, to do that for someone he didn’t even know was amazing. I will always cherish that man.

That story is a true example of the man we lost, one special person, friend, brother, son and father.

Though his family and friends mourn his passing, we know that Corey is now at peace and Heaven and Angels are rejoicing on Corey's return.
