Frank C. Skierski, Sr.

Frank C. Skierski, Sr. of Endicott went onto his eternal life on June 7, 2022, to meet up with his beloved wife of 65 years, Helen (Miklos). He was born in Plains, PA on March 6, 1928. He was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Lewon) Skierski. Frank went on to join the Army in December of 1945. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne completing his basic Airborne Training in 1946, completing 15 successful jumps as a Paratrooper. Pvt. Skierski was chosen as Non-Commissioned Officer and as an outstanding trooper amongst a group of division men for a special tour of Washington. He was awarded with the official 82nd Airborne Ring and Plaque naming him β€œAll American Soldier.” On Labor Day, September 6, 1948 Frank was pictured with President Truman at the White House Garden along with 22 members of the 82nd Airborne. Frank was selected Honor Guard, protecting a two star General in Potsdam, Germany after World War II ended.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Anne (Kudcey), Stephanie (Mikula), Florence (Yencho) and nephew, Randy Mikula. He is survived by his only son, Frank C. Skierski, Jr. and his wife, Evelyn (Gordon); brother, Stanley Skierski; grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah and David Skierski; also several nieces very dear to his heart; and his partners in crime, dog, Oreo and cat, Lily. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott and a former Endicott Johnson employee with 32 years of service.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday June 14, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY. Entombment will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receivefriends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Mercy House 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.
