Salvatore (Sam) J. Clemente, 89 of Endicott, passed away on Monday July 11, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Anita; his sisters, Angela Clemente, Virginia Jones (Emrys); his brothers, Michael (Margaret), Joseph (Amelia), Frank (Laura), Anthony (Angeline) and Albert. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elvira (Pittarelli); his children, Robert (Lori), Cathy Card (Duane), Denise Nicolette (Timothy); his grandchildren, Daniel Clemente (Trisha), Thomas Clemente (Michelle Esworthy), Brian Card (Amanda), Meredith Martinsek (David); More Papa’s great-grandchildren, Jessica, Cameron and Parker; his sisters-in-law, Carol Clemente and Carm Golden; also several nieces and nephews.
Sam enjoyed 35 years of retirement from IBM Glendale and spent many winters in Florida. He took great pride in his vegetable garden and enjoyed Tioga Downs, but above all his family was the most important. He loved to reminisce about the good old days and told the best stories, always having a joke to tell. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott and volunteered many years at the BC Open and on various committees at Visions Federal Credit Union. A very special thank you to our son Bob and his wife, Lori along with our niece, Judy Dunlop for always being there to help and care for us.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 15th at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to either St. Anthony’s Church or Mercy House 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.
