Anthony (Tony) Salvatore Tordonato

We sadly announce the passing of our patriarch, Anthony (Tony) Salvatore Tordonato, who was born at
home in Easton, PA to Corrado and Anna on December 15, 1936. He passed away peacefully at home on
October 13, 2024. He was a graduate of Easton High School, Class of 1954. He proudly served in the US
Air Force from 1956-1959 as mechanical draftsman. While working for Lignacraft at Link Aviation, in
Hillcrest NY, he met Elona Ziobro. They were Married September 8, 1962, and moved to Northampton,
PA. He graduated from Lafayette College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
1971. Over his professional career, he worked at Armitage, Mack Trucks, Western Electric, there US
Dept of Defense, from where he retired January 2002. He was a 44-year member of Northminster
Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and Elder. Tony was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia
Eagles, and even attended some games over the years. He also enjoyed playing golf, traveling and wine
tasting. He was a talented artist, who was gifted in woodworking, and watercolor painting. He and
Elona enjoyed too many vacations to count but highlights of their journeys included numerous work-
related travels to Boston, Washington, DC and Santa Barbara and person excursions to the California
Coast, Northeast coast/New England, extensive Florida destinations, Puerto Rico, Italy, Hawaii, a cross
country trip with stops at many National Parks and US landmarks. They enjoyed a number of cruises,
including the Panama Canal, Bermuda, Nova Scotia and two European River Cruises. Tony and Elona
were snowbirds to Vero Beach, FL for 18 years where they enjoyed the winter months in the warm,
beautiful Floria sun.


Tony is pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Esther (Tordonato) and Brother-in-Law, Alfred Santoro;
brother Frank; nephew Jesse; in-laws Frank and Teresa (Elnicky) Ziobro; and sister-in law and brother-in
-law Lillian and Robert Avery, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elona (Ziobro) Tordonato;
daughters Sally (Robert) Bennett and Amy; grandchildren Nathaniel/Nate (Fiancée Maggie) and Ryan
Bennett; Aaron, Aidan and Alexa Brainard; brother Carl; sister Josephine (Josi) Todaro; brother-in-law,
Gerald Ziobro and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services to be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 711 Farm-to-Market Road, Endwell, NY on
Friday, October 18 at 12 noon. Entombment to follow at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. The family
will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd, Endicott, NY on Thursday
October 17 from 6pm-8pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Union Volunteer
Ambulance (8 S Avenue B, Endwell, NY 13760; Northminister Presbyterian Church or Mercy House (212
N Mckinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760 ).
