On July 26th, 2024, Lanie Cummings gained her angel wings after a hard fought seven-year battle with Dementia. She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Agnes (Varga) Parisella; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Vernon and Reba (Follet) Cummings. She is survived by her loving husband and very best friend Gerald Cummings; six children and their spouses who she loved as her own, Mark (Kristine) Pennell, Debra (George) Brunette, Stacey (Tim) Caletka, Eric (Lori) Nelson, Erin (Mike) McKeon, Jaime (Matt) Pello; her sister Rita (Ken) Nigh; her brother-in-law Bob (Maryann) Cummings; she is also survived by the lights of her life, twenty-three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews along with their families. Lanie retired from NYSEG after 22 years of dedicated service. She then went on to volunteer for the next twenty-five years with the Ladies of Charity, where she held every level of office numerous times. Her and Jerry shared countless memories and laughs with their Corvette Club friends who became family. Lanie’s family would like to give heartfelt thanks to her private nurses Brianna and Tori for their wonderful care over the last year. Also special thanks to the amazing Guthrie Hospice team, Dawn, Wendy, Mary, Shannon and Amy for their loving care in Lanie’s final days.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 2nd at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church 282 Chenango St. Binghamton, NY 13901 where a Funeral Mass will be held. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. The family will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY on Thursday August 1st from 5 to 7 PM.
