Frank J. Kovarick

Frank J. Kovarick, 92 of Endicott, passed away Sunday December 11, 2022, at his home.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Millie (Swado) Kovarick; his brothers, Bud and Eugene Kovarick; his cousins, Carol Berry, Frank, Mary and Frances Kovarick; his friends, Tom Blauvelt, Denny Morrisey and several more. He is survived by his devoted friends and caregivers, Dan and Michelle Stastyshyn, Jake Fiala; his nieces, Mary and Pastor VanSailo, Sharon Kovarick and Michael Press, Pamela and Mike Costello, Brenda; his nephews, Jim and Donna Kovarick, Paul and Cristina Kovarick; also, many grandnieces and grand nephews; his Goddaughter, Chris Horner.

Frank attended Maine Central Schools, Vestal High School and graduated from Binghamton Central High School. On December 23, 1944, he was diagnosed with Polio and was hospitalized until May 1, 1945 and was then transferred to the reconstruction home in Ithaca, NY where he resided until June of 1946.  He attended Harpur College along with his brother Gene and graduated in 1950 with a certificate of Mechanical Technology. Frank worked at Vestal Modern Design until its closing in 1972 and then worked as a subcontractor until 1979 when he joined IBM Owego as an Inspector of Circuit Boards and later as an Engineer working on several military programs and retiring in 1992.

A special thanks to his compassionate and loving caregivers, Martha Walter, Carla Parks, Courtney Donnelly, Ann Marie Vergason and April White. He was an avid Nascar and Formula One racing fan. He enjoyed building race cars along with his friends. Frank was a kind and gentle fatherlike figure who always had a good story.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 20th at 1:00 PM at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY with the Rev. James Serowik, officiating. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery in the Spring. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Kovarick may be made to The Maine Volunteer Emergency Squad 2658 Main St. Maine, NY 13802
