Damon L. Preston 47, of Binghamton, NY went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 17, 2024. He was predeceased exactly thirteen years prior by his father Roger D. Preston on January 17, 2011. He was also predeceased by his step dad William Miller, uncles Kenneth Lawton and Clifford Anderson, aunt Lauraleen Anderson and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his loving mother Elizabeth Miller, his step mom Cathy Preston, his ride or die best friend sister Jennifer Huntley (Jonathan), his "wife that never was" Kelly Targett, his sister Amy Miller, step brothers Michael Miller and Scott Miller (Jen. ) He is also survived by his nephew Kaleb Preston (Emily) and their children Dakota, Cole, Savannah and Remington, his niece Shiley Byers (Denver) and their children Jasper, Esmé and Rory, several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a plethora of friends.
Damon graduated from Johnson City Senior High School in 1995. He worked several jobs with his favorite being a driver for a medivan company. He had a passion for singing, hiking, making people laugh, playing drums and drawing but mostly he had a love and a passion for telling people about Jesus.
On July 24,2023 he had a stroke that landed him in Bridgewater nursing home where all the staff and residents loved him. He was well cared for there. He was always singing, beating on the table with his one good hand, joking around and YES sharing his faith in Jesus with every nurse, aide, therapist, doctor and resident. If you were in earshot of Damon, you were hearing about Jesus.
A celebration of life service will be held on January 27,2024 at 12:00pm at Triumphant Life Church. 1511 Davis Ave Endicott NY.
