Gerald Roger Fiehl

Gerald Roger Fiehl, 76, beloved son, brother, and husband, entered into Eternal Life on April 7, 2022 following a brief illness. He was born on November 10, 1945. He is predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Michael Fiehl, and his wife, Barbara Russell Fiehl. Also survived by his brothers Donald, Newark, DE, John and his wife, Cindy, Bear, DE, Martin and his wife Diana, Endwell, sisters Margaret Ruth Salisbury,
Endwell, and Susan Fiehl, Albany, NY as well as his nieces and nephews.

Gerald served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hancock. He worked as a Cad Designer until his retirement from The Raymond Corporation, Greene, NY. He was devoted to his many pets through the years, most notably Boone, his trusty Keeshound, and Zeke, his long-lived cat. There was never a creature who approached his door who was turned away hungry.

Gerald’s passion in life was the game of pool. In the words of the fictional caddie Bagger Vance,”Inside every one of us is one authentic swing.” For Jerry, rather that “authentic swing” was one of a Pool Player. He traveled extensively for matches and prided his tactical abilities in pursuit of excellence at the game. He played in many east coast tournaments; and he placed well in the Worlds Tournament in NYC overwhelming the famous legend, Luther Lassiter. He also enjoyed reading, poring over his stamp collection in appreciation of its historical significance, golfing, and in his youth, displaying his gifted Little League Baseball left-handed pitching in the EYO (Endwell Youth Organization) league. Gerald’s kindheartedness and generosity of spirit are noteworthy and will bring a knowing smile to all whom he knew.

A private burial was recently held in Calvary Cemetery where Jerry was reunited with his beloved Barbara.
