Geraldine Battista

Geraldine Battista, 87 of Johnson City, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 24, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Robert; and her son, Joey Woodruff. She is survived by two daughters, June Woodruff (Harold), Geraldine Woodruff; also two step-children and several grandchildren. She was an avid NY Mets fan and Bingo player. There will be no funeral services.

Mary (Magur) Schleining

Mary (Magur) Schleining, 93, formerly of Endwell, passed away on Wednesday January 24th, 2024, at Elizabeth Church Manor.  She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Magur Sr. and her daughter Patricia.  She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Herbert, her daughters, Marjorie Schleining of Cooperstown, Karen (Randy) Weeks of Endwell, and Melissa (Ben) Mannino of Cumming, Georgia. She is also survived by her brother George (Marilyn) Magur Jr. of Endwell, her grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley Weeks, Justin (Jessica) Smith, Anthony (Ally) and Christine Mannino, and Rachel (Bryce) Castille, nieces, and nephews Ed (Kristin), Nicolette, and Ann Magur, and many cousins and close friends. 

She was born in Czechoslovakia on August 17th, 1930, and settled in Endicott with her parents at the age of 5.  She was extremely proud of her heritage and her Orthodox faith, a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church in Endicott.  She and her husband met at the Lowell School of Business in Binghamton.  She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Jersey shore and Atlantic City, cooking, and baking for which she was well known, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren of whom she was very proud.  She was known for her artistic talents and created beautiful Easter eggs (pysanky).

A viewing will be held at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, on Monday, January 29th at 10am.  A Funeral Service will follow at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 1907 Jenkins St. Endicott, NY 13760. The family would like to thank Hilltop, St. Louise Manor and Elizabeth Church Manor for their loving care over the past several years.

 

Damon L. Preston

Damon L. Preston 47, of Binghamton, NY went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 17, 2024. He was predeceased exactly thirteen years prior by his father Roger D. Preston on January 17, 2011. He was also predeceased by his step dad William Miller,  uncles Kenneth Lawton and Clifford Anderson, aunt Lauraleen Anderson and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his loving mother Elizabeth Miller, his step mom Cathy Preston, his ride or die best friend sister Jennifer Huntley (Jonathan), his "wife that never was" Kelly Targett, his  sister Amy Miller, step brothers Michael Miller and Scott Miller (Jen. ) He is also survived by his nephew Kaleb Preston (Emily) and their children Dakota, Cole, Savannah and Remington,  his niece Shiley Byers (Denver) and their children Jasper,  Esmé and Rory, several other nieces, nephews,  great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins  and a plethora of friends.

Damon graduated from Johnson City Senior High School in 1995. He worked several jobs with his favorite being a driver for a medivan company. He had a passion for singing,  hiking,  making people laugh, playing drums and drawing but mostly he had a love and a passion for telling people about Jesus. 

On July 24,2023 he had a stroke that landed him in Bridgewater nursing home  where all the staff and residents loved him. He was well cared for there. He was always singing, beating on the table  with his one good hand, joking around and YES sharing his faith in Jesus with every nurse, aide, therapist, doctor and resident.  If you were in earshot of Damon,  you were hearing about Jesus. 

A celebration of life service will be held on January 27,2024 at 12:00pm at Triumphant Life Church. 1511 Davis Ave Endicott NY.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the kkidsinc.org foundation as Damon loved kids and was never able to have any of his own.

Victor Joseph Lorenz

Victor Joseph Lorenz, 89, formerly of Endicott passed away at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in
Murrells Inlet, SC on Thursday, January 11 th , after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 64 years,
Beverly (Eckert) Lorenz, three daughters and their spouses: Karen and Lew Walker of Murrells Inlet, SC;
Debra and Steve Dykun of Orange, CT; and Vicki and Steve Drapp of Lancaster, OH; nine grandchildren –
Greg, Michelle, Corey, Kirsten and Colin Walker; Zachary and Eric Dykun; Emily and Stephanie Drapp;
one great-granddaughter, Audrey Walker; sister-in-laws Muriel Jackson and Marilyn Lasky; brother and
sister-in-law Edward and Patricia Eckert; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and
many friends and neighbors.
Vic was born in Johnson City in 1934, graduated from Binghamton North High School. He served in the
US Army and was honorably discharged. He worked in procurement at IBM Federal Systems Division in
Owego. He and Bev raised their three daughters in Johnson City and in West Corners in Endicott. Vic
was a member of the Quarter Century Club at IBM. He was also a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church in Endicott. Unfortunately, a major stroke in 1985 forced Vic into early retirement from IBM. Vic
was an avid golfer and spent many a day on the links. He had two hole in one’s during his golfing days.
In his retirement years he also enjoyed playing pool, putting puzzles together, watching sports on TV
and in person, and visiting his children and grandchildren. He loved watching his favorite teams: NY
Yankees, Syracuse Orange, Buffalo Bills, Clemson football and almost any other sporting team. He also
loved to go out for breakfast during the week and was known by name at his favorite restaurants in the
triple cities. Vic spent his last two years living in Murrells Inlet, SC at the home of his daughter and son-
in-law’s home due to declining health. He enjoyed living at the beach with the sunshine, warmth and no
snow.
Any memorial donations the family would like to be made to your local American
Heart Association.
There will be a funeral mass at a later date at St. Joseph’s Church in Endicott. 

Donald Edward Short

In the early morning of January 12, 2024, Donald Edward Short, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, after a brief illness.  Dad lived a long, full life, but was ready to be with his wife, and we take comfort knowing they are together again. Don is predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn Kay (Snover) Short (2014), his parents Howard W. Short (1973) and Gertrude (Schnetzler) Short (1992), his brothers Howard W. Short, Jr. (1934) and Richard B. Short (1994), his granddaughter Sheri N. Lunn (2017). He is survived by daughters Dianne L. Lunn, Hilton, NY, and Carolyn L. (Jamey) Cooper, Vestal, NY, grandsons Steve Lunn and Dan Lunn, Hilton, NY, granddaughter Laura (Jimmy) Splawn, Spartanburg, SC, great-grandson Zachary Lantz and soon-coming great-granddaughter Emma Grace Splawn, step-granddaughter Victoria McGinn (Ryan), step-great grandsons Jack and Luke McGinn, step-grandson Anthony (Alexa) Cooper, brother-in-law Donald Snover, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his special grand-puppy Chloe. Special thanks to John and Doris Rovente who treated Don as family. Don was born in Tupper Lake, NY and moved with his family to Endicott in 1942. He graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1953.  Just after graduation, Don was hired by IBM as an apprentice tool maker, then worked in Owego, NY for 36 ½ years making several contributions to the Space Program with NASA throughout his professional career. He retired on 1/1/1990 as Project Manager of Automated Equipment Maintenance. After retiring, Don and Marilyn enjoyed time with family and friends, and did a lot of traveling.  They made many special memories and friends along the way. Don was a lifelong hunter and fisherman, doing both by the time he could walk.  He was also a Yankees baseball fan, until he defected by becoming a Mets fan, much to the dismay of his daughters. Don was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, Endwell, where he served as a deacon, elder, and usher throughout the years.  He was also a member of IBM’s Quarter Century Club, the Elks Club Lodge No. 1977 Endicott, and the Round Hill Masonic Lodge #533 of Endicott.  His most recent earned title was Regional Master in the American Contract Bridge League, in which he played in his later years. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 18th at 12 Noon at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY, with the Rev. Robert Peak officiating. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, Don would love it if you would do something kind for someone else, just to put a smile on their face.

Stephen Kostyshak

Stephen Kostyshak, 92 of Endwell, NY peacefully fell asleep in the Lord, Thursday, January 4, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna (Vencko) and William Kostyshak; his wife of 62 years, Natalie (Kozemchak) Kostyshak; brothers Peter, Michael, John, Edward, Andrew, Joseph; sisters Helen Himko and Celia Koast; son-in-law Edward Stavana. He is survived by his daughters, Tonya Stavana (John Fedorko), Tami (Russ) Ramirez, Tina (Scott) Sylvester; grandchildren, Christopher and Timothy Stavana, Jared Ramirez and Lia (AJ) Madison, Dr. Skylar Sylvester (Dr. Christian Folk) and Morgan (Alex) Pollinger; great grandchildren Sasha and Hallie Madison; his sister Maryann Sinnema; also several nieces and nephews. Stephen grew up on the family farm in the Town of Binghamton and it always remained a huge part of his life. He was physically fit and continued to chop wood on his land well into his eighties. He graduated from Binghamton North in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1957 during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged and became a member of Disabled American Veterans. He always said he did the best he could with what he had and was always ready to lend a helping hand to all. After serving, he worked for New York Telephone and then the Postal Service for 25 years. He was a quiet, humble and generous man that loved his family very much. He was a proud member of Ss. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Endicott and their R Club where he helped out wherever he was needed. The family would like to thank Fr. Timm Holowatch and V. Rev. Alexey Karlgut for their love, support and friendship over the years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:30 am at Ss. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church 210 Hill Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am. Marie Joyce Spak

Marie Joyce Spak of Endwell, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2024, at her home. She was predeceased by her husband John and her son Stephen. She is survived by 2 sons, Thomas Spak (Jeffrey), James Spak (Pamela); 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, and Amanda Spak; also loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a former member of St. Ambrose Church and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. She was a graduate of Syracuse University. She loved her family and faith dearly and was active in the catholic community. She will be sorely missed by the many lives she touched, especially her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday January 12th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 701 W. Main St. Endicott, NY from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY.

Linda (Murphy) Soliwoda

Linda (Murphy) Soliwoda of Endicott, NY, passed away on January 1, 2024, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Shlatz. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Bill Soliwoda; 5 children Terri Shea (Murph), Lorie Soliwoda-Truong, Dan Martone (Natalie), Michael Soliwoda (Abby), Wyll Soliwoda-Doan (Henry); 11 grandchildren Kassidy Shea (Matt Gaska), Erin Shea (Nate Harendza), Maggie Shea (Stavros Asprou), Aidan Shea (Samantha Havel), Kira Truong, Ciara Truong, Allaira Truong, Leaira Truong, Nico Soliwoda-Alway, Joseph Soliwoda-Doan, Mali Soliwoda-Doan; her sister Debra Morello; also several nieces, nephews, cousins; her lifelong friends Alice Vincent, Marie Bates and Pat Musa. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, its Altar Rosary Society, and its Knitting Ministry. She was the owner of All Occasion Cakes for over 30 years and was well known throughout our area as the “Cake Lady”.

Sheila Beblavy

Sheila Ann Beblavy (Stanton) passed away on December 27, 2023; Sheila was born. 

December 10, 1962, at Walton Hospital. Daughter of Douglas Sr. and Judith Stanton. Douglas Stanton Sr. and sister Pearl Davis preceded her.

Sheila has a son Codey Beblavy and wife Dakota, with three sons Rhaegar, Gunner and Xander which are Sheila's grandsons. She has two brothers Richard (Judy) Stanton, Douglas Jr. (Iris)Perez. And sisters Marcia (James) Barnhart, Connie Stanton. She also has many aunts and uncles and cousins. 

Sheila loved spending time at the park swimming with her grandchildren. Also baking Christmas cookies with her grandsons. She loved to crochet. She enjoyed playing cards with family and a lot of laughter. She will be missed.

Suzanne Tostanoski

Suzanne J. Tostanoski passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 3, 2024 after a short and difficult fight with cancer.   She was an amazing woman and is now reunited with her husband, Mike, her parents and countless rescue cats and dogs.   Sue was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Cecilia and Chester Siminitz, but lived in Endicott for most of her life.   She is survived by her devoted children, Jude (Nick) and Terez (Shane), her sister Pam (Bob) and brother, Tad (Chris) and nieces and nephews, Jesse (Brittany), Kyle (Dana),Jordan, sister-in-law Gerry (Bill-predeceased) and nieces Lisa and Sarah.  She loved golfing, skiing, tennis, traveling, food, parties and laughing, especially during the holidays.  She and Mike enjoyed taking long trips on their motorcycle. She taught elementary school in the Vestal School system for more than 30 years.  The family is grateful to Mercy House for their loving and compassionate care.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 6th at 11:00 AM at The Church of the Holy Family 3600 Phyllis St., Endwell, NY.   Burial will be in Calvery Cemetery, Johnson City, NY, at a later date.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM.   In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Mercy House, Endicott, NY or The Animal Care Council, Endicott, NY.

Jimmy R. Terwilliger

On Friday December 22nd, Jimmy R. Terwilliger passed away at the age of 73. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Marion Terwilliger; his in-laws, Mario and Rose George; his sister-in-law, Donna Lee Wyatt; his children, Jeremy and Rebekah Terwilliger. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice George Terwilliger; his grandson, David Terwilliger; his brother, Dick (Midge) Terwilliger; his sisters, Kenna (Jerry) Skrivan, and Lori Briggs; his brother-in-law, Tom (Judy) Wyatt; also several nieces and nephews. Jim graduated from U-E High School in 1969 and enlisted in the United States Air Force serving for four years. After being discharged he worked for the US Postal Service and retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and recently had a private interview with Jim Kelly which was a thrill for him. Jim lived life to the fullest and was blessed to have made many friends in his lifetime. Jim would have wanted to have a party after his passing, so we will have a celebration of his life on Saturday January 20th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sons of Italy Lodge 126 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY. Michelle (Zemek) Merry

Michelle (Zemek) Merry, 67 of Johnson City, NY, went to heaven peacefully on December 7, 2023, with her husband by her side. She joins her beloved family members who have gone before her; parents Mary and Charles Zemek; brothers Richard and Charles Zemek; nephew Christopher Albee and brother-in-law Jerry Albee. She is survived by her husband Bryan Merry; her children Katie Merry Williams (Jeremy), Nicholas Merry, Alexandra Merry (Tamdan McCrory and children, Keelin, Jared, Saya); her sister Mary Jo Albee; her sister-in-law Eileen Zemek; her niece Heather Royce (Joe Buonocore and children, Aly and Cara); her grand-nieces and nephews Dominik Royce, Sophie Royce (father Jim Royce), Joshua Albee (mother Kim Wallace), and Mika Buonocore; also many cousins and extended family here and abroad, especially in the Czech Republic. She was raised in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Binghamton and graduated from St. Ann’s School. She was a graduate of Johnson City High School and SUNY Brockport. She was also a member of the Czechoslovak Moravian Club. The family extends a special thank you to Amy Relyea who is Michelle’s selfless living organ donor who gave us 12 more precious years.

Thomas Spatafora

Thomas Spatafora, 95 of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday November 27, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents; 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Josephine; one daughter, Cecelia (Tom); one son, Jim (Kathleen); 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He and Josephine relocated to Boynton Beach after a well-earned retirement. He was a former member and usher at St. Anthony of Padua Church, a 3rd Degree Knight and an avid volunteer. He enjoyed golf, billiards, painting, music and singing. He was very proud of the 5 generations he sat with as the head of the family.

Amedeo (Sarge) Sylvester

Amedeo (Sarge) Sylvester, 83 of Endicott, NY passed away Wednesday November 29, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents Amedeo and Mary Sylvester and his sister Irma Mancini. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years MaryAnn (Fiacco) Sylvester; three children Bryan Sylvester, Scott (Tina) Sylvester, Brenda Sylvester; five grandchildren Alex, Alyssa and Andrea Sylvester, Skylar Sylvester (Christian Folk), Morgan (Alex) Pollinger; his canine companions Catch, Rhoda, Nova and Segal; also several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott where he was an active volunteer. He was a retired employee of Singer Link with over 35 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Newark Valley Gun Club, the NAWCC, the NRA and the Sons of Italy, Endicott. He was also a master watch and clock repairman. Amedeo was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Philip Jubinski

It is with great sadness that the family of Philip Jubinski announces his passing on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by his wife Loretta in 2018; his brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Helen Jubinski; his brother-in-law Michael Yuschak. He will be lovingly remembered by his cherished niece Daria Shierly (Rex Decker) and a treasured grandniece Megan (Adam) Seevers. Philip will also be sadly missed by two sisters Arlene (Don) Adams and Pat Fry; his sister-in-law Marlene Yuschak along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was a retired employee of IBM. Following retirement he began driving vehicles for dealer trades with the Matthews Auto Group where he greatly enjoyed the road trips. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Raymond Gasbarra Jr.

Raymond Gasbarra Jr., born on July 13, 1960, left this world surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, November 26th.

Ray, as he was affectionately known, was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Gasbarra, step-father William Scales, father-in-law James Dancesia, mother-in-law Doris Morey, and Uncle Chris Granger.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Nicole, and their cherished sons Evan, Corey, and Raymond III. He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that extends to his mother, Donna Scales, brother-in-law Russell, and sister Cynthia Cornwell. Ray is also survived by Russell Cornwell Jr. (Shana), Roxsann Arellano (Osiel), & Rachel Cornwell. Among those who mourn his passing are uncles Edward Granger, Roger Scales, Eugene Scales, Joyce Welch, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graduate of UE High School, Ray furthered his education by completing the Radiologic Technician program at BCC. He dedicated his professional life to Ascension, where he served as an X-ray technician, making a positive impact in the medical field.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Ray's heart was filled with love for his family, his golden retriever Munson, and his passions, which included hunting , riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, and a deep-rooted loyalty to the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and The Grateful Dead

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical professionals who provided exceptional care during Raymond's journey. A special thanks to Dr. Madhuri Yalamanchili and the compassionate Broome Oncology Team for their unwavering support. Dr. Junaid Khan and the Pulmonology Team played a crucial role in Raymond's care, showcasing their commitment to excellence. The family also expresses appreciation to Dr. Alan Demaine and the Palliative Care Team at Ascension and Lourdes Hospice for their compassionate and comforting guidance during a challenging time. These healthcare professionals not only demonstrated expertise in their fields but also displayed genuine kindness and empathy, making a profound difference in Raymond's life and the lives of those who love him.

Christine M. (Bilek) Smith

Christine M. (Bilek) Smith, 57 of Endicott passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2023. She was predeceased by her father Joseph J. Bilek, Sr. and her sister Mary Elizabeth Bilek. She is survived by her husband of 23 years Michael R. Smith; her mother Joan M. Bilek; her brother Joseph Bilek (Catherine); her sister Carol Lewis (Gary); two nieces Hannah and Bethany Bilek; her father-in-law Richard A. Smith; three aunts Karen Chernega (Frank), Josepha Snyder (Gareth), Anne Simpson Garcia; her uncle David Bilek; also, several cousins. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Endicott and a former employee of CVS with over 30 years of service. She was a graduate of UE High School, class of 1984 and Broome Community College. She was an active fundraising volunteer for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday December 1st at 12 Noon at St. Joseph’s Church 207 Hayes Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Jeanne A. Mayes (Callaghan)

Jeanne A. Mayes (Callaghan), born November 1, 1944, passed away on November 7th, 2023, rejoining her husband of 56 years, Joseph Mayes, Mother, Marion Echorst, and sister Shannon Caforio. Jeanne graduated from Seton Catholic High School in 1963.

Jeanne lived most of her life in Endicott, NY. She had many jobs over the years, including running a local after-school program for kids. Her most loved job was raising her two sons, for which she received critical acclaim. She lived in Colorado for 18 years and spent her remaining years in Owego, NY.

Jeanne leaves behind her sons Michael and Jeremy, her daughter-in-law Jessica (Perone), her grandchildren, Mark, Joey, Ever, and Marley, and her cherished dog, Banjo.

Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a creative thinker, voracious reader, and passionate pursuer of social justice. Her natural curiosity was contagious, and she loved to talk about life’s biggest questions.

A viewing will be held at Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Boulevard in Endicott on November 15, 2023 from 5-7PM, with a service at St. Ambrose on Washington Avenue in Endicott on November 16 at 10AM. Judith (Judy) R. McFadden

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith (Judy) R. McFadden who on November 6th, 2023, succumbed to the complications associated with dementia.  Born on October 19, 1942, in Waterbury Connecticut, Judy attended Crosby High School and later studied English Literature at St. Mary of the Plains College in Kansas where she was also a member of the cheer team.   Judy is predeceased by her parents; Gene and Marie Rosselli, brother; Russell Rosselli, and daughter; Beth Anne Petersen.  

 

A devoted and loving wife, mother of five and grandmother to six, 

Judy leaves behind her husband of fifty-nine years Bill McFadden, sons; Michael McFadden, Terry (Mary) McFadden, daughters; Kelly McFadden, Erin (Jim) Gross, grandchildren; Johnny Plouffe, Jack McFadden, Jimmy, Samantha, Nathan and Ava Gross, sisters; Noel (Cliff) Paventy, Rosalie (Harry) Taylor, brother in laws; Terry McFadden, Pat (Sheri) McFadden, sister-in-law; Kathy (Bill) Stimmel, and several special cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

 

Judy was firmly grounded in her faith and reveled in her role as a Eucharistic Minister in whatever parish she found herself a member of. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and relished the opportunity with them to sing and listen to music, shop for antiques, read prayers and poems, play scrabble, and watch the hallmark channel. Among the many things that made Judy so special was her uncanny ability to meet people wherever she went and strike up conversations as if she’d known complete strangers her entire life.  Her kindness and unconditional love made this world a better place. 

 

We would like to give a special thank you to Lorena Graham, Lourdes Hospice and I-Care for their compassion and assistance throughout her ordeal.

 

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 10th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home 1905 Watson Blvd. in Endicott. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Saturday, November 11th at 11:00am at Church of The Holy Family in Endwell. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Judy’s name.

Carol (DeForrest) Daglio

Carol (DeForrest) Daglio, 87 of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday November 5, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents Chalmers and Catherine DeForrest; her sister Nancy Sistarelli. She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 66 years Robert Daglio; her son Steve Daglio (Pat); her daughter Shelley Welch (Chris); five grandchildren Bobby Daglio (Grace), Anthony Daglio (Adria), Emily Ingersoll (William), Allyson Burlingame (Nick), Christopher Welch; 5 great-grandchildren William, Eva and Genevieve Ingersoll, Bradley and Britta Burlingame. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, the Daughters of Columbus Lodge, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, a retired bus driver for Union-Endicott and a veteran of the United States Air Force. The family extends a sincere thank you to Carol’s caregivers, Cheryl, Vanessa, Dawn and Lourdes Hospice for their compassionate and loving care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday November 13, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery.
